The North Holland White Krombek Bean is one of the few white bean varieties left in the Netherlands. This creamy white bean is usually grown in the northern part of North Holland and has a beautiful kidney-like shape. Fermentation beautifully brings out the wonderfully soft, creamy flavor and even adds a touch of saltiness.
The tastiest way to prepare tempeh is to slice or cube it and fry it over high heat in plenty of vegetable oil until golden brown. Marinating isn't necessary, but it's optional. You can then use the tempeh in a curry, salad, on a sandwich, or, as we often do, simply enjoy it with a sprinkle of sea salt as a snack.
