Orange bitter aperitif syrup De fruitslagers delved into the bitter truth of the orange industry. While we can enjoy these exotic oranges year-round, people worldwide are becoming ill due to excessive pesticide use. And yet, the bitters in their peels are actually attributed medicinal properties in many cultures. Accompanied by bitter herbs and charred oak, the organic brothers (blood) orange and grapefruit form a versatile aperitif as a solution: dilute 1:3 for a 0.0 Negroni, 1:5 for an unsprayed Spritz, or 1:8 for a "waste-saving" soda.
Fruit and herb infusion (water, grapefruit, orange, oak, gentian root, calamus root, purple carrot), sugar, 10% blood orange juice, acid: citric acid, salt.
Mix 1 part Bitter Bloed with 7 parts (sparkling) tap water for a glass of aperitif as a solution or combine with Field Guide spirits for a fresh mocktail.
The Aperol of the Low Countries! Soft citrus bitters, layered with toasted oak.
